NexLube Tampa to build new re-refinery and blending plant in Florida
NexLube Tampa LLC said it will build a re-refinery and lube blending plant in Tampa, Florida, U.S.A., which is due to be completed by the end of 2013. The new refinery and blending plant is expected to cost US$85 million. The new re-refinery, which is expected to process 24 million gallons of dehydrated oil annually, will use the French company Axens and Italy’s Viscolube Revivoil’s technology. NexLube’s products will include API Group II base oil, motor oil, hydraulic fluid, and transmission fluid. The re-refined products will be marketed to municipalities or owners of automotive fleets, who would then return the used oil to the re-refinery for processing into base oil. (July 14, 2011)
