New Mobil Delvac 1 synthetic oil now available

ExxonMobil Fuels, Lubricants and Specialties Marketing Co. has released a new synthetic diesel engine oil for engine protection, improved fuel economy and longer drain intervals, the company said.
The Mobil Delvac 1 LE 5W-30 is recommended for diesel-powered commercial vehicles and meets or exceeds an extremely broad range of industry and manufacturer specifications.
“As a company that helped pioneer synthetic lubrication technology, we are proud to add Mobil Delvac 1 LE 5W-30 to our family of synthetic heavy-duty diesel lubricants available here in the United States,” said Pablo Conrad, global brand manager, Mobil Delvac, ExxonMobil Fuels, Lubricants and Specialties Marketing Company.
According to ExxonMobil, on-track testing of the oil using 2012 Freightliner Cascadia trucks, loaded to about 75,000 lbs. and 2011 Isuzu NPR-HD trucks loaded to about 12,560 lbs. showed fuel economy gains compared to mineral lubricants when used in combination with the Mobil Delvac Synthetic Gear Oil 75W-90 in the rear axle and Mobil Delvac Synthetic Transmission Fluid 50.
The test results also showed improved average fuel economy of 3.4% for city driving conditions and 2.8% for highway driving in Isuzu trucks, and 1.5% for city driving conditions and 1% for highway driving in the Freightliner Cascadia trucks.
“Because ExxonMobil appreciates the challenges that our customers commonly face as they operate in various locations and environments, we thought it was critical to have results from both on-highway and city driving conditions thoroughly measured and documented,” Conrad said. “This will help our customers better understand the potential fuel economy gains that Mobil Delvac 1 LE 5W-30 and our range of synthetic heavy-duty diesel lubricants can deliver, and how those gains can translate into valuable cost savings.”
