Neste Oil strengthens share of retail market in Russia
Neste Oil Corporation acquired four new service stations in the St. Petersburg region in November, further strengthening its share of the retail market in Northwest Russia. The company had earlier opened three outlets in the same area. Neste Oil now has 61 service stations in Russia and employs some 900 people. It has begun a revamp of its service stations in line with its new retail concept. “Our overall aim is to consolidate Neste Oil’s position as one of the leading brands on the retail market in and around St. Petersburg,” said Indrek Kaju, general manager, Russian Operations, at Neste St. Petersburg. He added, “An extensive station network, together with our revamped retail concept and high standards of customer service, will be central to our long-term success.” Neste Oil Corporation is a refining and marketing company that concentrates on low-emission, high quality traffic fuels. It launched its service station facilities in the Baltic countries in the 1990s. Its first station in St. Petersburg opened in 1991 and now its network in Russia extends from the Finnish-Russian border to Novgorod. (December 6, 2011)
