MRPL to launch branded fuel

India-based Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd. (MRPL) will be launching branded petrol and diesel fuel in the OVaL retail outlet of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation and HiQ retail outlets of MRPL in June. The HiQ Value and Oval-XL petrol will have lower sulfur, benzene and aromatic contents, resulting in lower emissions. The company, which has launched a retail outlet at Maddur on the Bangalore-Mysore highways, will launch the outlets at Mangalore and Hubli in August. Though the company has licenses to open 500 outlets, it is taking it slow due to present oil market conditions. (June 19, 2008)
