Mitsui to license biomass technology from Inbicon

Japan’s Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding said it has secured a biomass refinery technology license from Danish biorefineries developer Inbicon. The companies have inked a license agreement, which grants Mitsui the right to use Inbicon’s technology in a number of biomass projects to be located in southeast Asia. The Japanese company plans to apply the relevant technology for converting palm oil waste into ethanol. This is the first license agreement for Inbicon, a unit of state-owned utility Dong Energy A/S.
