Mitsui, LanzaTech sign MOU as global business partners
LanzaTech of New Zealand, which produces fuel grade ethanol from non-food renewable sources, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Mitsui Global Strategic Studies Institute (MGSSI). According to the agreement, MGSSI will introduce LanzaTech’s proprietary gas fermentation technology into Mitsui. Jennifer Holmgren, chief executive of LanzaTech says, “Mitsui has both an outstanding history and a progressive vision for the future. With a comprehensive strategy on energy and the environment and a track record of being a catalyst to investments across a range of industries, Mitsui will enable LanzaTech to globally deploy low carbon industrial solutions to meet the changing needs of the times.” The new agreement will allow LanzaTech’s patented technology to be commercially deployed quickly through the use of Mitsui’s engineering, project development and financing capabilities.
