Japans Mitsubishi reportedly plans to increase production capacity of fuel-efficient lightweight automotive engines in Japan by 35% in autumn 2009. The OEM will invest ยฅ9 billion (US$8.3 billion) at its engine plant in Shiga Prefecture. The increase will boost capacity to 385,000 units a year.
