Mitsubishi, Peugeot eye broader green technology

Mitsubishi Motors Corp. and PSA Peugeot Citroen Group are discussing cooperating in such areas as co-developing environmental technologies and having the Japanese automaker supply more models to its French partner on top of their capital tie-up talks, The Nikkei reports. The two have already agreed that Mitsubishi Motors will supply its electric vehicles to Peugeot under an OEM (original equipment manufacturer) arrangement. The firms are also examining the possibility of Mitsubishi Motors assisting Peugeot’s efforts to develop a gasoline-engine hybrid, as well as co-developing a plug-in hybrid vehicle. (December 4, 2009)
