Mitsubishi Heavy invests ¥1 billion to produce engine turbo chargers in Indiana

With an eye on the growing demand for fuel-efficient cars in North America, Japan’s Mitsubishi Heavy Industries announced that it will invest ¥1 billion (US$12 million) for the production of engine turbo chargers in Indiana, U.S.A. The company said mass production at the plant is scheduled to begin in 2014. The initial annual production capacity will be 600,000 turbo chargers. Turbo chargers are used to increase fuel efficiency in small petrol engines. (December 10, 2012)
