Mitsubishi Fuso to enhance hybrid trucks

Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corp. President Albert Kirchmann said the company plans to increase its profitability by enhancing its hybrid trucks, as it eyes overseas markets in the future. Mitsubishi Fuso is looking to roll out its trucks in emerging markets such as Russia and India to help boost lackluster sales. The Japanese truck maker, owned 85% by Germany’s Daimler AG, already markets light-duty trucks with a hybrid system that combines a diesel engine and an electric motor in Japan, but sales are limited.
