Mission NewEnergy says it has a breakthrough process
Mission NewEnergy said its bioethanol pilot trial using patent-pending technologies with a group of scientists in India has achieved a break-through and has successfully produced bioethanol from non-food agricultural wastes. Mission NewEnergy reports that the results of the pilot trial have now been verified and validated by a leading Indian academic institute. The Institute’s evaluation report concluded that “the trials….conclusively established lignocellulosic biomass to be a major source of sugars for further conversion to ethanol….and that this technology can and should be put forth for commercialization”. Mission says an Indian patent for one of the critical processes within the technology has been granted, providing 22 years of intellectual property protection. (March 12, 2010)
