Mekong Petroleum ends importation of petroleum and oil products

Mekong Petroleum JSC signified its intent to end the importation of petroleum and oil products in 2012 through a document sent to the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade. Mekong Petroleum was one of five wholesalers earlier named by the Ministry that had not met the minimum quotas for fuel importation set by the government. Mekong Petroleum said that the parent company, PetroVietnam Oil Corporation, had directed the withdrawal. Henceforth, in 2012, PetroVietnam will directly import fuel and distribute it to its members, including Mekong Petroleum. (December 30, 2011)
