McDonald's sets up drive thru in Sinopec gas stations
One of the world’s largest fast food chains, McDonald’s, has established its first drive thru restaurant in a gas station in China, owned by China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec). Located in Shahedong Gas Station in the Changping District of Beijing, the very outlet is now operational. The two companies, which have an exclusive 20-year agreement, plan top build 25 to 30 drive thru restaurants, mainly in Chinas eastern region, in the next one and a half years. Sinopec has about 30,000 petrol stations in China. McDonald’s currently has 780 restaurants in China. (January 23, 2007)
