Mazda targets to produce 1 million units by 2016
Mazda plans to increase annual domestic production to about 1.05 million units by the fiscal year ending March 2016, from about 900,000 units currently, according to CEO Takashi Yamanouchi. Yamanouchi also said Mazda is considering introducing plug-in hybrid and electric cars after it releases a petrol/gasoline-electric hybrid model. Mazda will start selling a hybrid model by 2013, using Toyota’s technology. (December 6, 2010)
