Marketshare of Petrolimex declines to 48%
State-run giant Vietnam National Petroleum Corp. (Petrolimex) currently holds nearly a 48% share of the domestic fuel trading market, from 70% earlier. PV Oil followed with a market share of 16.4%, from 13% in 2008. Thanh Le General Import Export Trading Corp. (Thalexim) was also up, to 5.7% in 2011, from 1.8% in 2008. The market share of Military Petroleum Corp. (Mipeco) and Vietnam National Shipping Lines (Vinalines), dropped to 2.2% and 0.3%, from 5.8% and 1.2% earlier, respectively.
In the first eight months of this year, Petrolimex sold 5.65 million tons of petroleum products in the domestic market, fulfilling 63% of the full-year plan, but falling by 5% against the same period last year. (September 17, 2012)
