Malaysia may push back implementation of Euro 4
Malaysia is considering postponing the introduction of Euro 4-compliant gasoline and diesel fuel from 2011 to 2013 or 2014. The move, reports said, is due to oil companies’ requests for a four- to five-year time gap between the introduction of Euro 4-equivalent motor fuel standards (4M) and the full implementation of Euro 2-equivalent standards (2M), which will be fully implemented in September 2009. The original deadline of 2011 for 4M motor fuels was based on the original target of October 2007 for 2M fuel which was postponed to allow for a four-year gap between the implementation of the two standards.
