MAL Pakistan starts construction of lube blending plant

MAL Pakistan (formerly Askari Lubricants Ltd.) started construction of a lube blending plant in the Korangi industrial area in Karachi. The plant, when completed, will be able to produce 33 million liters of lubricants annually. “The plant will be completed in two phases with equal investments of Rs150 million (US$1.66 million),” said MAL Pakistan CEO Khawar Jamal at an inaugural ceremony. He pointed out that MAL Pakistan, being the exclusive marketer of the Mobil and Esso flagship products in Pakistan, has a strong presence in the local market. The new facility will include a laboratory, a logistics center and a modern training center. (December 24, 2011)
