LyondellBasell says non-U.S. operations doing business ‘as usual’

U.S. chemical manufacturer LyondellBasell Industries said that all its non-U.S. businesses were “conducting business as usual with no impact from the Chapter 11 restructuring filing by [its] US operations and one European holding company.” A spokesman for LyondellBasell’s Houston Refining Company said that long-term contracts to supply crude to LyondellBasell’s 270,200 barrels-per-day (bpd) refinery at Houston, Texas, are still valid and have not been affected by the company’s bankruptcy filing in the U.S. Another source said that the company continued to operate its MTBE business in Europe.
