Lukoil starts supplying lubes to Afghanistan

Lukoil subsidiary LLK-International LLC has begun delivering lubricants to Afghanistan.
The first hundred tonnes of lube oil was shipped in March. LLK-International plans to deliver up to 1,000 tonnes of lubricants to Afghanistan for the Afghan Defense Ministry and other defense and law enforcement agencies by year-end.
The supply contract was signed in February during a visit to the Afghan capital, Kabul, by a delegation of LLK-International officials.
To satisfy growing demand in Central Asia and the Middle East, LLK-International plans to build a blending plant with a capacity of 100,000 tonnes in Southern Kazakhstan. Investment in the plant is estimated at US$100 million. Total sales volume is estimated at US$200 million per year.
Lukoil is also considering the possibility of building a lube blending plant to supply markets in Southeast Asia.
