Lukoil plans to complete modernization of lubricant production at Romanian refinery
LLK-International, a wholly owned subsidiary of Russian oil major Lukoil, is investing US$2.5 million to modernize its lubricants production at the oil refinery Petrotel-Lukoil in Romania. Lukoil’s investments last year totaled US$3.5 million. The company plans to complete upgrades by the end of 2012, or early 2013.
Lukoil wants to make its oil-blending installation fully automated and money is also being put into packaging equipment and storage overhaul. New products made at Petrotel-Lukoil include the full line of Genesis oils and new-generation Genesis engine oils. The company has begun making Genesis Premium 5W40 and 5W30 oils for the European market.
Lukoil Genesis engine oils are preferred due to their lower sulphur, phosphorus, and sulfate ash content. They can be used in Euro 5 and 6 compliant engines. (September 5, 2012)
