Low-quality gasoline found in HCMC

The inspectorate of Ho Chi Minh city (HCMC) Department of Science and Technology recently found 30,900 liters of low-quality gasoline after inspecting 15 petroleum filling stations in the metropolis. The taskforce found A92 RON gasoline that had a research octane number (RON) of only 83.4. Most of the violations were found at the Thanh Tan petrol in Binh Tan district, Hung Thien Phuc Joint Stock Company and Dong Thanh petrol enterprise in Hoc Mon district, and at a petrol store in District 1. The municipal government seized the supply of gasoline and suspended its sale. (August 25, 2009)
