Kia posts 13.4% global sales growth in March

South Korean automaker Kia Motors posted a 13.4% year-on-year (y/y) increase in global sales in March. The company sold 245,238 units, representing a 19.1% month-on-month (m/m) increase from the 205,876 units sold in February. In March, the company posted y/y sales increases in all of its overseas markets, including a 19.1% y/y increase to 40,427 units in China; a 19.3% y/y increase in Europe to 54,106 units; and, an increase of 29.4% y/y in North America to 64,133 units. In other markets, such as the Middle East, Africa, Central and South America, the Caribbean, Asia (excluding China and South Korea), and the Pacific, y/y sales rose 8.0% to 44,522 units. However, y/y sales in its domestic market declined by 8.8% to 42,050 units. (April 10, 2012)
