Kia Motors launches first electric vehicle

Kia Motors introduced the Ray EV, the company’s first electric vehicle, a city car which has zero emission and can run up to 139 kilometers on a single charge. The new electric vehicle has the same major components found in Kia’s 1.01 petrol-powered Ray CUV, but the Ray EV can be manufactured in the same production line used for conventional combustion engine cars. The Ray EV is currently sold exclusively in Korea. (January 26, 2012)
