Key suppliers named for Lanxess plant
Germany’s Lanxess has announced some key supply contracts for its €400 million (US$487.86 million) synthetic rubber plant investment at the new Tembusu sector of Jurong Island, Singapore. These include Tuas Power’s US$2 billion clean coal/biomass co-generation plant, where new owner China Huaneng has gained first-mover advantage by being the first utilities provider at Tembusu, as well as Norway’s Stolt-Nielsen which is building a US$350 million chemicals terminal there. Apart from these two deals, Lanxess has announced that it has awarded the main engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) management contract to Foster Wheeler, while a fourth deal for wastewater processing went to Sembcorp Industries.
