Kalpataru to build HPCL-Mittal pipeline

Indian-based Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd. said it has bagged a Rs3.85 billion (US$75.03 million) contract from HPCL-Mittal Energy Ltd., a joint venture company between Hindustan Petroleum Corp. Ltd. and Mittal Energy Investment Pte. Ltd. Under the contract, Kalpataru would lay nearly 550 kilometers of pipeline in India between the western town of Mundra in Madhya Pradesh and Bhatinda in the northwestern state of Punjab. The oil pipeline, which is scheduled for completion by yearend, will be part of HPCL-Mittal’s Guru Govind Singh refinery. (March 9, 2009)
