JV looks at naphtha cracker complex
Kuokuang Petrochemical Technology has started a feasibility study on constructing a petrochemical complex centered on a naphtha cracker in southern Mailiao in Taiwan’s Yunlin County. The cracker will be capable of producing 1 million tons per year of ethylene. The company expects the new cracker to be completed for operational start-up around 2016. Kuokuang Petrochemical Technology is a joint venture established by Taiwan’s state-run CPC Corp., formerly Chinese Petroleum Corp., and private-sector petrochemical makers including Chang Chun Petrochemical.
