Joint venture to build biodiesel plant in Jambi
A Japanese investor is joining hands with an Indonesia company, PT Biodiesel Jambi to construct a biodiesel plant worth Rp480 billion (US$52.89 million) in East Tanjung Jabung Regency, Jambi. Head of Jambi Regional Investment and Promotion Coordinating Board (Bapemproda) Erwan Malik said the biofuel plant would use crude palm oil, coconut oil, and jatropha plant as its raw materials. The Jambi Provincial Government and the East Tanjung Jabung Regency government currently are arranging the land on which the plant will be constructed. (January 26, 2007)
