JGC wins refinery upgrade project

JGC Corp. announced on May 22 that it has received an US$81million refinery upgrading order from Singapore Refining Co. (SRC). Company officials said JGC aims to complete the upgrade by March 2009. The plant, located on Jurong Island, in Singapore, currently refines 285,000 barrels of crude oil a day. The upgrading will allow the oil refinery to produce low-sulfur diesel fuels that will meet Euro IV standards. SRC, a joint venture between Singapore Petroleum Co. Ltd. and Chevron Corp., has been considering its options for upgrading since August 2006. (May 29, 2007)
