Jatco to build second plant in China

Jatco, the world’s biggest CVT (continuously variable transmission) maker announced that it would create a second overseas factory in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, south China, with a total investment of 300 million yuan (US$43.94 million). The new plant is designed to produce 140,000 CVTs per year, which will be installed on the 2.0L-2.5L vehicles produced by Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Co. Jatco will introduce its advanced production system JEPS into the to-be-built factory to satisfy its global quality standard. (October 19, 2009)
