Japan’s JX to produce lubes in Indonesia

Japan’s top oil refiner JX Nippon Oil & Energy Corp. said it would start lubricant production in Indonesia from around March 2012, aiming to tap strong growth from motorcycles and automobiles. The plant will have an annual capacity of 40,000 kiloliters (kl). Another Japanese company, Idemitsu Kosan Co., said in June 2009 that it would invest US$13.5 million to more than double its production capacity for lubricants in Indonesia to 65,000 kl by October 2010.
