Japan Energy says new condensate splitter in Mizushima enters test-run

Japan Energy Corp. said it has started a test run at a new 35,000 barrel per day (bpd) condensate splitter at its Mizushima refinery. The splitter processes cheaper condensate to produce naphtha, raw materials for petrochemicals, along with oil products such as gasoline and kerosene. The splitter will operate commercially in autumn. The spliiter will boost capacity to 242,000 bpd, from 205,200 bpd. Japan Energy also operates a 60,000 bpd condensate splitter, owned by its group refinery, Kashima Oil. (August 11, 2009)
