Isuzu to double capacity at Chinese JV

Isuzu Motors Ltd. plans to double its annual output capacity of trucks in China to 200,000 units by around 2015, reports The Nikkei. Isuzu will expand an existing joint venture truck factory in the city of Chongqing with China’s Qingling Motors (Group) Co., making it the largest such facility in China. Total investment is expected to reach around 10 billion yen (US$105.64 million), with Isuzu slated to shoulder several billion yen. A new building will be built at the site as part of the expansion. In addition, Isuzu will expand a parts production line at a neighboring engine joint venture with Qingling. (May 11, 2010)
