IOC’s Paradip refinery reaches 90% completion
Indian Oil Corp. (IOC) expects to commission the first phase of its 15 million ton-per-year Paradip refinery by September this year, after completing 90% of the project thus far.
According to its Executive Director, M. M. Vijaywargiya, the project will cost Rs 297.77 billion (US$5.5 billion), out of which Rs 293 billion (US$5.45 billion) has already been spent. Vijaywargiya added that installation of all major equipment has been completed. The refinery is expected to produce 5.97 million tons (mt) of diesel, 3.4 mt of petrol, 1.45 mt of kerosene, 536,000 tons of LPG, 124,000 tons of naphtha and 335,000 tons of sulfur. (January 9, 2013)
