IOC invests to automate service stations

Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) is spending Rs 1,600 crores (US$374.92 million) on automation over two years, covering more than 2,000 of its 16,000 retail outlets in the initial phase, including those of IBP, IOC’s Director, Marketing, G. C. Daga said. “We are selecting outlets with 200 kiloliters or more monthly sales to start with. The second phase, to be completed by mid-2008, will cover 1,178 petrol stations involving an investment of Rs163 crores (US$38.19 million),” he said. (March 27, 2007)
