INVISTA commits to reduce energy intensity by 20% by 2020
U.S.-based INVISTA, a subsidiary of Koch Industries, Inc., has made a commitment to reduce the company’s energy intensity by 20% by 2020. To achieve this goal, the company will invest in its manufacturing facilities to reduce the energy used per ton of product. David Dotson, senior vice president for global operations, said, “At INVISTA, we’re dedicated to being good stewards of natural resources as we make products people value. Efficient energy use is part of that commitment.” The company reports that there have already been improvements in energy intensity at the Gersthofen plant in Germany, which has reduced energy intensity by 11% since 2007. INVISTA is one of the world’s largest integrated producers of polymers and fibers. (July 18,2011)
