Innospec's blending plant to go on stream next year

Innospec Inc., which is building a fuel additive blending facility in Subic Bay, Philippines, is scheduled to commence commercial operation early next year, Regional Director for Asia Pacific Miltos Papachristos said. Innospec entered into a Fuel Additives Blending Agreement with Petron Corp., wherein it will provide its technology while Petron will construct and operate the facility. The design of the facility being built is for 6,000 to 8,000 metric tons capacity, although the design of the plant will allow double this capacity. Part of the plants output is for the export market, roughly 75%, while the balance will supply the domestic market. The ten-year pact stipulates that Petron will be Innospecs exclusive toll blender in the Asia-Pacific region. (May 7, 2007)
