Indonesian university to build renewable energy research center

Cenderawaih State University (Uncen) will build a renewable energy research center in Papua under an Indonesia-Dutch cooperation scheme. This was disclosed by the coordinator of a Technical Working Group for capacity development and strengthening for energy policy formulation and implementation of sustainable energy projects in Indonesia (CASINDO), Endang Hartiningsih. Research will be on solar, hydro-electric and bio-energy. The CASINDO program, which is part of the Indonesia-Dutch energy co-operation, is also conducted in North Sumatra, Central Java, Yogyakarta and West Nusa Tenggara. (January 11, 2010)
