Indonesia to limit use of subsidized gasoline
The Indonesian government will limit the use of subsidized gasoline by private cars starting on April 2012. The regulation will be effective only in Java and Bali. Evita Herawati Legowo, oil and gas director general, said that there are no plans to raise the prices of subsidized fuels in 2012, but the government wants to reduce its subsidy to the energy sector through this new regulation. She added that PT Pertamina will be the implementing agency for the government program and that preparations, including infrastructure, are 96% complete. (December 22, 2011)
