India’s first biofuel outlet in Hassan

Karnataka State Biofuel Task Force Chairman Y B Ramakrishna said that Karnataka will be the first state in India to have a biofuel outlet at the Biofuel Park in Hassan. Ramakrishna said that the government had signed a memorandum of understanding with Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd. to set up a biofuel outlet in Hassan and said that the task force had identified 70 institutions for biofuel research in the state. “The government has decided to set up four biodiesel plants by July 15, 2010 and to set up 20 biofuel outlets and 746 seed centers within one year in the state,” he said.
