Illegal use of subsidized diesel declines
Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry Parliamentary Secretary Hoo Seong Chang said that as of February, a total of 21,031 samples had been taken from 14,190 depots throughout the country, of which 5,963 premises were found to have subsidized diesel “marked” with the nanotag. The use of the technology has resulted in the number of premises found to be using subsidized diesel illegal drop from 78% in September last year to 51% in February. Hoo said the government plans to extend the use of the nanotag throughout the country. (April 25, 2007)
