HydroGreenergy urges re-refining used lube oil
HydroGreenergy, Thailand’s first green lubricant maker, plans to collect used oil from service stations with the help of the Wongpanit group, the country’s leading recycling business and one of the 18-month-old company’s shareholders. HydroGreenergy has invested 300 million baht (US$9.05 million) in its project, with technology obtained from Australia. The refining plant on a six-rai (0.96 hectare) site in Chon Buri has a full production capacity of 100,000 liters per day. The company claims to be the first in Southeast Asia to produce base oil with the same quality as base oil refined from crude oil. (December 15, 2009)
