Hunan constructs biofuel plant

Hunan Jinsha Real Estate Development Co. Ltd. revealed on July 10 the beginning of the construction of Hunan Province’s first environment friendly bio-hydrocarbon and bio-methanol liquid fuel manufacturing plant. The project will cost RMB400 million (US$52.8 million) and will have an annual capacity of 100,000 tons. The project, located in Huju Town of Zhuzhou City’s Chaling County, occupies an area of 27 hectares. The first phase of the project, which will cost RMB120 million (US$15.8 million), is expected to begin production in July 2008. The second phase, which will cost RMB280 million (US$36.9 million), is expected to start production in late 2008. (July 11, 2007)
