Huizhou refinery starts supplying products

China National Offshore Oil Corp.’s (CNOOC) newly built refinery in Huizhou started to supply oil products to the East China market in May. It will supply the Chinese market with 340,000 tons of gasoline and 510,000 tons of diesel fuel in the next months until the end of the year, media reports said. The Huizhou refinery, with an annual refining capacity of 12 million metric tons, or 240,000 barrels per day, started its initial run in March. CNOOC expected the refinery’s capacity utilization to reach 70 to 80% from May onwards, when it will also begin producing jet fuel. About 350,000 tons of jet fuel from Huizhou will be exported this year by China Aviation Oil Holding Co., based on a three-year agreement it signed with CNOOC on April 15. (April 24, 2009)
