HPCL's lube blending plant begins production

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd.’s lube blending plant in Jamtala in the Jessore district of Bangladesh began commercial production in September. Completed in June, the plant has a capacity to produce 10,000 metric tons of automotive and industrial lubricants per year. Initial production will be half of the plants capacity. Investment in the plant is Rs 25-30 lakh (US$38,462-46,154). India’s HPCL had been exporting about 3,500 kiloliters of lubricants to Bangladesh for the last three years. (September 12, 2006)
