HPCL to upgrade Mumbai refinery

State-owned Hindustan Petroleum Corp. Ltd. (HPCL), plans to partially shut down its 6.5-million ton refinery in Mumbai, India, for two months during which the facility will be both upgraded and expanded. After the upgrade, the refinery will be able to process high-sulfur crude, and will boost capacity to 7 million tons per annum. The project is expected to be completed by July. (June 13,2011)
