HPCL to start biofuel plantation in Rajasthan

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has sought about 20,000 hectares of wasteland for jatropha and other related plants cultivation in the Banswara district, according to Chairman and Managing Director M.B. Lal. The company also plans to build a biofuels plant in the area. He added that HPCL is also looking for such wasteland in Chattisgarh, and is exploring possibilities of setting up other such plants.  Aside from the biofuel plant, HPCL is also working on providing liquefied petroleum gas and compressed natural gas to domestic consumers.
