Honda's compact car to be cheapest hybrid
The Honda hybrid Fit, which goes on sale in Japan in October, will be the cheapest hybrid in the country with prices starting around ¥1.50 million (US$17,484). According to Tokyo Shimbun and Mainichi Shimbun newspapers, the Fit will cost about ¥300,000 yen (US$3,496) less than Honda’s Insight hybrid. The hybrid Fit is to be equipped with a 1.3-liter gasoline engine and is expected to deliver a fuel mileage of more than 30 kilometers per liter. (August 8, 2010)
