Honda's compact car to be cheapest hybrid
The Honda hybrid Fit, which goes on sale in Japan in October, will be the cheapest hybrid in the country with prices starting around ยฅ1.50 million (US$17,484). According to Tokyo Shimbun and Mainichi Shimbun newspapers, the Fit will cost about ยฅ300,000 yen (US$3,496) less than Honda’s Insight hybrid. The hybrid Fit is to be equipped with a 1.3-liter gasoline engine and is expected to deliver a fuel mileage of more than 30 kilometers per liter. (August 8, 2010)
