Honda will adopt small, low-priced car in global strategy

Honda Motor Co. plans to market a small, low-priced car that it will produce and sell in India, as well as other emerging nations, within the next few years, giving the vehicle a strategic position, President Takanobu Ito has revealed. Honda said it will enhance worldwide sales with a production base in India, which is experiencing rapid growth like China. โ€œIn the long term, fuel-cell vehicles that only expel water and can run for a long distance with a single hydrogen refill will become the favorite,โ€ he said. However, it is expected that it will take a long time to develop fuel-cell vehicles for practical use. (October 10, 2009)
