Honda to install fuel injectors on all motorcycles sold in Indonesia
Honda Motor Co. said that all of the motorcycle it will sell in Indonesia will have fuel injectors, even though the implementation date of the new emissions standards is scheduled on 2013. Although fuel injector-equipped models are more expensive to make than the traditional units with carburetors, Honda said it will install them to enhance fuel efficiency and lower carbon emissions. The company also said it will hold prices down through mass production. Yamaha Motor Co. currently installs fuel injectors on one model, but Honda wants to install the special feature on all of its models. Indonesia ranks third among the largest markets for motorcycles in the world. Honda expects to sell approximately 4.3 million units, representing a 25% increase in sales by the end of 2011.
