Hino begins production of EPA10 compliant model

Hino Motors Manufacturing U.S.A., Inc. (HMM), a manufacturing subsidiary of Hino Motors Ltd. (Hino), recently began production of its 2011 model medium duty trucks, which meet stringent 2010 Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Emissions Regulations, at its plant in West Virginia. A line-off ceremony was held to celebrate the event with participation from local government officials, including West Virginia Governor Joe Manchin and U.S. Senator Carte Goodwin. Hino President Yoshio Shirai, HMM Chairman Sumio Fukaya and HMM President Hideyuki Omata were also in attendance. The HINO 600 Series is designed exclusively for the North American Market and marketed as HINO 268 in the US. The 2011 model HINO 268, praised for excellence in fuel efficiency, is the only conventional medium-duty truck model equipped with engines in compliance with the stringent EPA10 emission standards.
